1. Looking on the Heart

When Jesse's seven older, taller sons passed by, the Lord taught Samuel that human eyes judge by height and appearance, but God looks at the devotion of the heart.

"For the Lord seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the Lord looketh on the heart." (1 Samuel 16:7)

2. Tested in Private

David had the courage to face Goliath because he had already seen God deliver him when protecting his sheep from a lion and a bear. Private integrity builds public faith.
